Autoscopy-Threads

Imagen
Autoscopy Photoshop Edit For this project, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a surreal composition based on the concept “ Threads That Bind Us .” My goal was to visually represent the connection between humans, nature, and something spiritual beyond us. I focused on the idea of freedom and peace, using natural elements and symbolic visuals to build that message. The main technique I used throughout the project was masking to integrate and blend multiple images into one composition. This helped me blend elements like the sky, landscape, wings, and additional overlays in a more delicate way. I also adjusted opacity levels to make certain elements blend together better, and I applied motion blur to the wings to create movement. To enhance the surreal feeling, I added a slight grain effect to my figure so it would stand out while still blending into the environment. Conceptually, the wings represent freedom, while the white flowers symbolize peace and calmness. The eyes in the sky repres...

Climbing Sierra

Imagen
Climbing Sierra In-Class Assignment For this project, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a composite image by replacing the climber’s face with a dog’s face and adjusting different elements to make the image look realistic. The goal of the project was to understand how layers, masking, and adjustment tools can be used to combine multiple images into one final edit. One of the most important parts of this project was learning how to properly use layer masks. I had to carefully align the dog’s face with the climber’s head and mask out the unnecessary parts so that the image blended naturally. I also used tools like the Spot Healing Brush to smooth transitions and make the composition look more realistic. In addition, I applied adjustment layers like Hue/Saturation and Color Balance to change the colors of the helmet and equipment so everything matched visually.

Abstract: The Art of Design

Imagen
In the documentary Abstract: The Art of Design , this image of Adele’s face and eyes brought me close to my emotions. The way the image is split, with one side showing her full face and the other focusing only on her eyes, makes it feel intense and personal. Her expression looks almost frozen in a moment of realization, like she’s seeing or feeling something deep and strong.  What stood out to me most is how her eyes reflect both confusion and amazement at once. It’s not a simple emotion. It feels like she’s processing something overwhelming but also beautiful. The black-and-white style makes it even stronger by removing distractions and forcing you to focus only on her expression and the feeling behind it. I connect to this image because sometimes that’s how I feel. There are moments where I can’t fully explain what’s going on in my head, but I feel everything at once, confused, emotional, and still somehow full of grace. This image reminds me that not every emotion needs a clea...

B&W to Color

Imagen
B&W to Color in Photoshop  For this project, I used Adobe Photoshop to transform a black-and-white photograph into three different color versions using different color schemes. The goal was to learn to color by using masking techniques.  One of the most important parts of this project was learning how to use masks correctly. Masks allowed me to carefully paint into selected areas while maintaining clean edges (tried to) and separation between elements.  Technically, the project required the use of selection tools, layer masks, and brush tools to apply color precisely. At times, I found the process challenging because remembering the correct steps and tools in Photoshop was difficult. I got frustrated while working on it, but that challenge also helped me better understand the program and improve my workflow. Overall, this project helped me develop a stronger understanding of the basis of color theory and masking techniques.

Ps PL 1

Three Tutorials on Photoshop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80434t3GTgA In this video, the creator explains the basics of Photoshop and how it works. It shows how to create a new file, open images, and understand the main tools and panels. Photoshop is primarily used to edit pixel-based images, such as photos and graphics, which is why it’s popular among photographers and designers. Some of the tools shown look pretty easy to use, especially things like cropping, adjusting colors, or working with simple layers. However, I think learning the complete interface might take time because there are many panels and settings located in places I would need to memorize. I would probably use this tool to edit photos for social media or improve images for projects. What I found interesting is how many different things you can do with one program, from simple photo edits to more advanced digital art. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dam4wNiyPII This video explains many of the tools available ...

Photoshop Art Piece

Imagen
Today in class, we created an art piece using the Brush Tool. First, we used layers of scratches along with the Pen Tool and the Mask Tool to create a graffiti-style version of our black-and-white logo. Then, we saved that design as a custom brush and used it to create the final art piece by applying different colors. I got a sense of how Photoshop works; it has similar tools to Illustrator.

Propaganda Poster

Imagen
Propaganda Poster Artist Statement For this project, I created a propaganda-style poster using Adobe Illustrator that communicates a message of resilience and encouragement. When brainstorming ideas, I focused on the concept of emotional strength and how visual design can motivate people. I chose the phrase “Stay Strong” because it is simple, direct, and universally understood. The message reflects perseverance during difficult moments and encourages viewers to keep going despite challenges. For inspiration, I looked at classic propaganda posters and modern street art. Many propaganda posters use bold typography, strong color contrast, and minimal text to communicate powerful ideas quickly. I wanted my poster to follow that same approach by making the message the most visible element. I also explored expressive backgrounds with paint splatters and textures to give the poster a more energetic, contemporary feel. The color palette plays an important role in the design. I used bright...
