 Propaganda Poster Artist Statement

For this project, I created a propaganda-style poster using Adobe Illustrator that communicates a message of resilience and encouragement. When brainstorming ideas, I focused on the concept of emotional strength and how visual design can motivate people. I chose the phrase “Stay Strong” because it is simple, direct, and universally understood. The message reflects perseverance during difficult moments and encourages viewers to keep going despite challenges.

For inspiration, I looked at classic propaganda posters and modern street art. Many propaganda posters use bold typography, strong color contrast, and minimal text to communicate powerful ideas quickly. I wanted my poster to follow that same approach by making the message the most visible element. I also explored expressive backgrounds with paint splatters and textures to give the poster a more energetic, contemporary feel.

The color palette plays an important role in the design. I used bright turquoise and butter yellow in the background to create a sense of calm, hope, and positivity. These cooler colors contrast with the darker purple typography, which makes the words stand out immediately. The splashes of paint help create movement and emotion in the composition.

The central illustration of the person was designed to represent confidence and determination. I intentionally used a simplified black-and-white style for the portrait to contrast with the colorful background. This allows the viewer to focus on both the person and the message without too many distractions. The facial expression also contributes to the tone of the poster, suggesting optimism and resilience.

Technically, I created the illustration using the Pen Tool to trace and simplify the portrait into clean vector shapes. I then adjusted anchor points using the Direct Selection Tool to refine the curves and outlines. The background paint splatters were created using custom brush textures and opacity adjustments to simulate a watercolor and paint effect.

Overall, the goal of this poster was to combine bold typography, expressive color, and simple illustration to communicate a clear emotional message. By blending elements of propaganda design with modern digital illustration, the poster aims to inspire viewers and remind them to stay strong during difficult times.

Autoscopy-Threads

Autoscopy Photoshop Edit For this project, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a surreal composition based on the concept “ Threads That Bind Us .” My goal was to visually represent the connection between humans, nature, and something spiritual beyond us. I focused on the idea of freedom and peace, using natural elements and symbolic visuals to build that message. The main technique I used throughout the project was masking to integrate and blend multiple images into one composition. This helped me blend elements like the sky, landscape, wings, and additional overlays in a more delicate way. I also adjusted opacity levels to make certain elements blend together better, and I applied motion blur to the wings to create movement. To enhance the surreal feeling, I added a slight grain effect to my figure so it would stand out while still blending into the environment. Final Photoshop Animation

Final Photoshop Animation Artist Statement  For my animation, I wanted to create something related to the FIFA World Cup 2026 and highlight Panama’s appearance. My idea was to design a simple animation based on a goal chant, incorporating both the tournament logo and Panama’s national team logo. This was the most challenging project so far. While working on it, I forgot to activate some layers before adding frames, and later realized I needed to include text within the animation. As a result, I had to go back and adjust each frame individually, which was time-consuming. Despite the difficulties, this project helped me understand that animation in Photoshop is possible, but it requires careful planning, patience, and attention to detail. Moving forward, I want to dedicate more time to improving my projects.
