Personal Mark Artist Statement

 Personal Mark Artist Statement

For this project, I created my personal mark (logo) using Adobe Illustrator. When I brainstormed ideas, I chose to use my initials “KR” because I have always identified myself professionally with those letters. Using my initials makes the logo feel personal, direct, and authentic to who I am. I wanted the design to feel simple but elegant, so I blended both letters into one smooth form.

For inspiration, I looked for different typography styles on Pinterest to see how the letter “K” could be shaped in a more fluid and modern way. I sketched several versions by hand before recreating them digitally. I also used ChatGPT as a creative tool to refine the design.

For the color palettes, I explored combinations that reflect different sides of my personality and brand:

In the first version, I used emerald green and soft nude (#007872 and #F4E1D2). The emerald represents growth, ambition, and creativity, while the nude tone softens the mark and adds warmth. Together, they communicate a balance between professionalism and personality.

In the second version, I chose dark blue and butter yellow (#0C355C and #FAF0CA). The blue represents trust, confidence, and structure, while the soft yellow adds optimism and energy. This combination feels strong but still youthful.

In the final version, I used deep navy and salmon (#131852, #FA8072). The navy conveys seriousness and professionalism; the salmon adds creativity and boldness. This version feels the most aligned with my personal brand because it balances strength and femininity.

Technically, I created the mark using the Pen Tool to draw custom curves, then refined the anchor points and handles with the Direct Selection Tool to smooth the transitions between letters.

This project helped me define my personal brand more clearly. My mark reflects energy, creativity, and confidence.
